Can the wallet store my backup password and retrieve it for me?

It's crucial to keep your backup password safe or write down your wallet's seed phrase or private key.

If you forget your backup password without noting down the seed phrase, you won't be able to recover your assets.

What can I do if I forget my backup password?

If you forget your backup password, you can't recover the wallets backed up with this password.

You can set a new password when backing up your new wallet, which won't affect your backed up wallets. When you recall your first backup password, you can continue using it to restore wallets.

How do I back up my wallet with iCloud, Google Drive or Huawei Cloud?

If you choose to back up your wallet with iCloud or Google Drive, you'll store your wallet's seed phrase safely in your iCloud, Google Drive or Huawei Cloud.

To back up your wallet with iCloud, Google Drive or Huawei Cloud, you need to set a password to protect your seed phrase. You'll be asked to verify this password again when restoring your wallet. For better security, we recommend using a strong, complex password.

One Apple ID, Google account or Huawei ID will use one backup password. You need to verify the password you previously set when you want to back up another wallet.

What should I do if I can't back up my wallet?

If you encounter issues while backing up your wallet, please check the following:

  • Not logged in to your cloud account: Make sure you're signed in to the same cloud account (iCloud, Google Drive, or Huawei Cloud) that you intend to use for the backup.

  • Incorrect backup password: Double-check the password you set for the cloud backup. The backup password must be at least 6 characters long and doesn't have any special format requirements. Please note that this password is different from your wallet password.

  • Insufficient cloud storage: Ensure there's enough available storage in your cloud drive. You may need to clear some space before trying again.

  • HMS Core components (Huawei devices only): If you're using a Huawei device, make sure HMS Core is installed and updated to the latest version via AppGallery.

After confirming the above, try backing up your wallet again.
