One of the things I was most excited about with Berachain was that they were integrating the main primitives (DEX, perps, and lending/borrowing) at the protocol level, allowing the chain itself to capture that revenue. They ended up launching only with the DEX, and since it didn’t gain much traction after the first few months, the original thesis didn’t play out. General-purpose chain → DEX → lend/borrow (launched weeks ago) → perps Hyperliquid deploying BLP is following a similar approach, but instead of starting from a general-purpose chain, they began with perps. Perps → general-purpose (HyperEVM) → borrow/lend This once again shows that ideas are worth nothing and that execution is what really matters. Pretty excited to see how BLP plays out.
