Q: What is EigenLayer?

EigenLayer is a protocol based on Ethereum that introduces a “restaking” mechanism. Through restaking, users can reuse their staked ETH for other protocols, providing them with security. These protocols can thus save a significant amount of time and resources, while restakers can earn additional return.

Q: When will the restaking returns from EigenLayer start to generate?

  • Asset on-chain time: Assets will be put on-chain every day at 9:00 AM (UTC+8). If you subscribe after 9:00 AM, your funds will be put on-chain the next day.

  • ETH rewards distribution: distributed every 7 days. The first returns will be distributed within up to 22 days after subscription.

  • EIGEN bonus distribution: Distributed every 7 days. The first return will be distributed within up to 22 days after subscription.

Please note: Your interest and principal will be finally credited to your funding account after you submit the redemption request.

Q: Is there a limit on the amount of ETH that can be restaked?

The minimum staking quantity for EigenLayer is 0.01 ETH, with no maximum limit. You are free to subscribe as needed.

Q: Will OKX charge a service fee when subscribing to EigenLayer?

Yes, OKX will charge a service fee of 5% based on the bonus you earn. This fee covers commissions and network fee.

Q: How do I subscribe to EigenLayer?

You can subscribe through OKX's On-chain Earn product. Simply search for ETH in the product list, then select EigenLayer Restaking to subscribe.

Q: Why is the EigenLayer redemption period so long?

Compared to traditional ETH staking, EigenLayer may offer higher returns, but it has relatively lower liquidity. No bonuses will be generated during the redemption period. You can submit a redemption request at any time, but your principal will take about 30 days to successfully redeem and arrive in your account. The specific redemption time depends on the onchain network conditions, which may be beyond the platform's control.
